How to Choose a Made to Measure Linen Brand: A Checklist

To choose a made to measure linen brand, check ten things before you order: that it is truly cut to your measurements, how you measure, the fabric and weight, who makes it, the timeline, the fit guarantee, the returns rules, duties and shipping, how to reach a person, and proof from other buyers. If a brand answers all ten clearly in writing, you can order with confidence.
This checklist is deliberately brand neutral. Use it on any shop, including ours. Where it helps, we say how PehroDesign answers each point, so you can compare like with like.
1. Is it really made to your measurements?
Some shops use the words made to measure for a normal size chart. Ask whether the garment is cut after you order, and whether you can send your own numbers. At PehroDesign every piece is cut and stitched after you order, in a standard size from XS to 3XL or to your measurements at no extra cost.
2. Do they show you how to measure?
A brand that takes your measurements should teach you to take them properly. Look for a clear guide and a size chart that says whether the numbers are body or garment measurements. Ours is on the size guide, and our journal explains how to measure yourself.
3. What is the fabric, and how heavy is it?
You should be able to see the fibre, the weight and any certification on the product page. Be cautious of a vague label such as linen look. Our women's pieces use medium weight OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified pure linen, our men's shirts use 100% OEKO-TEX certified European linen at around 200 gsm, and we name the fabric on every product page. More on our fabric page.
4. Who makes it, and where?
A trustworthy brand can tell you where the garment is made. We cut, stitch, finish and check every piece in our own unit in India. See how it is made.
5. What is the timeline, in numbers?
Made to order takes longer than off the shelf, so look for separate figures for production and delivery. Ours are 2 to 5 business days to make and 10 to 20 business days of tracked delivery after dispatch.
6. What is the fit guarantee?
This is the most important line for made to measure. Check whether a remake is offered, the exact tolerance and the deadline. Ours: if the finished garment is more than half an inch (1.3 cm) off any measurement you sent, tell us within 30 days of delivery with a photo, and we remake it once, free.
7. What are the returns rules?
It is normal for made to measure pieces to be final sale, because nobody else can wear them. What matters is that the policy says so plainly and covers standard sizes fairly. Ours allows standard sizes back within 30 days of delivery, unworn and unwashed, and the full text is in our refund policy.
8. Are duties and shipping costs clear?
Cross border orders can hide costs. Look for a plain statement on who pays import duty. We ship to the United States duty paid, and elsewhere the buyer is responsible for duties. Standard shipping is free worldwide.
9. Can you reach a real person?
Look for a postal address, a named contact and a stated reply time. Ours: chhavi@pehrodesign.com or WhatsApp +91 87699 99839, with a reply within 48 hours. If you are unsure about the shop itself, read is PehroDesign legit?
10. Is there proof from other buyers?
Check reviews in more than one place and read the ones that mention fit. You can read reviews on our reviews page.
What should a good size guide include?
It should say whether the numbers are body or garment measurements, show how to take each measurement, and list more than one region's sizing if the brand sells worldwide. Ours lists US and EU sizes for women and states clearly that the men's table is measured on the garment, laid flat, so that nobody picks a size a full step too small.
Common red flags
- No postal address or named contact anywhere on the site.
- Fabric described only as linen look or linen feel, with no fibre named.
- A fit promise with no numbers or deadline in it.
- Pressure to buy quickly, or prices that are always on a countdown.
- No explanation of who pays duty on international orders.
None of these proves a brand is bad, but each is a reason to ask a question before you pay.
A quick way to use this list
Give each point a tick, a question mark or a cross. Several question marks are a reason to email the brand before you order, and how quickly and clearly they answer tells you a lot.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between made to measure and made to order?
Made to order means the garment is cut after you order it. Made to measure goes further and cuts it to your own body measurements. PehroDesign does both: standard sizes XS to 3XL, or your measurements.
Is it normal for made to measure clothing to be final sale?
Yes, because a garment cut for one person cannot easily be resold. A good brand pairs that with a written remake rule for fit problems.
How many measurements do I need to send?
Usually bust or chest, waist, hip and height, plus the garment length you want. The exact list depends on the garment, and a good brand tells you which to send.
How long should made to measure clothing take?
It varies by brand. Look for separate figures for production and delivery. At PehroDesign it is 2 to 5 business days to make and 10 to 20 business days of tracked delivery after dispatch.
How can I check a brand is trustworthy?
Look for a postal address, written policies with numbers, tracking, clear duty terms and reviews in more than one place.
