FAQ: Made to Measure Linen, Sizing, Shipping and Returns

Answers to the questions we are asked most about ordering made to measure linen clothing from PehroDesign: sizing, timing, shipping, duty, returns and fabric. If yours is not here, write to us and we reply within 48 hours.

Made to measure and sizing

How does made to measure work at PehroDesign?

Every piece is cut and stitched after you order it. You can choose a standard size from XS to 3XL, or send us your own measurements and we make the garment to those numbers at no extra cost. Send them within 24 hours of ordering; if we have not received them by then, we make the standard size you selected. The custom order page explains the steps.

How do I measure myself?

For women's pieces, measure your bust at the fullest point, your waist at the narrowest point and your hips at the fullest point, over light clothing with the tape snug but not tight. Are the men's sizes body measurements?

No. Men's sizes are garment measurements taken with the shirt laid flat, so the numbers are larger than your body. The easiest way to choose is to lay a shirt you already like flat, measure it and match it to the men's table on the size guide. If you send us your own body measurements, we can pick the size for you or tailor the piece to you.

What sizes do you make, and do you make plus sizes?

Standard sizes run XS to 3XL, on both women's and men's pieces. Above a 46 inch (117 cm) bust, please message us for a custom order rather than ordering 3XL, and we cut to your measurements. Our journal has a guide to plus size linen and why the fit goes wrong.

Can you make something that is not on the website?

Yes. Send us a photo of an outfit you love, a screenshot or a sketch, and tell us the fabric, colour, length and fit you want. We come back with what is possible and a price before anything is cut. Start on the custom order page or message us on WhatsApp.

Production and shipping

How long does an order take?

Production takes 2 to 5 business days, because each garment is cut and stitched after you order. Standard tracked delivery then takes 10 to 20 business days after dispatch, depending on your country. Delivery estimates start from dispatch, not from the day you order, so add production time for the full picture.

Where do you ship, and can I track my order?

We ship worldwide from India. Every order ships with end to end tracking, and the tracking number is emailed the moment the parcel leaves us. You can follow it on our order tracking page. Express delivery by FedEx, DHL or Aramex is available at checkout for an extra charge.

Is shipping free?

Standard shipping is free worldwide on orders over $189. Below that, the cost is calculated at checkout by destination and weight, before you pay. Express is always charged separately. The full terms are in our shipping policy.

Do I pay import duty in the United States?

No. We ship to the United States delivered duty paid (DDP). Import duty and tariffs are covered by us at the time of shipping, and there is nothing further to pay when your parcel arrives.

What about customs duties in other countries?

Outside the United States, import duties and taxes are set and collected by your own country and are the buyer's responsibility. They are not included in our prices or shipping charges. If you are unsure what applies where you live, check with your local customs office before ordering, or ask us and we will tell you what we have seen shipping to your country.

Returns, remakes and payment

What if the fit is off?

If the finished garment differs from the measurements you sent us by more than half an inch (1.3 cm) on any single measurement, tell us within 30 days of delivery with a photo. We remake it once, free. You cover the shipping to send the first garment back to us. Read the full refund policy.

Can I return a piece if I change my mind?

Standard sizes (XS to 3XL) can be returned within 30 days of delivery, unworn, unwashed and with any tags intact, for a refund of the garment price to your original payment method. You cover return shipping. Customers in the EU and UK have a 14 day withdrawal right on standard sizes. Made to measure and customised pieces are final sale.

What if my order arrives damaged or is the wrong item?

Tell us within 7 days of delivery with a photo. We replace it or refund you in full, and we cover the shipping both ways.

Can I cancel an order?

You can cancel within 24 hours of ordering for a full refund. After that the cloth may already be cut, and a made to measure piece cannot be cancelled once work has started.

What currency do you charge in?

Prices are shown and charged in US dollars. If your browser shows another currency, it is an approximate conversion and your bank sets the final rate.

Fabric, care and colours

What fabric do you use?

Our women's pieces are cut from medium weight, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified pure linen. Our men's shirts use 100% OEKO-TEX certified European linen at around 200 gsm, pre-washed to reduce shrinkage. One skirt in the range is a linen cotton blend, and the fabric is named on every product page. More on the fabric page.

Will my linen shrink, and how do I wash it?

Linen can shrink a little in hot water or a hot dryer, so wash it on a gentle cycle in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent, and hang it dry or tumble on low. Full instructions are on the garment care page, and our journal answers does linen shrink in detail.

Does linen wrinkle?

Yes. Linen creases because the fibre has very little natural elasticity, and a garment that never creased would be a blend. Many people like the relaxed look. Our journal has an honest answer on wrinkles.

What colours do you offer?

We stock thirty-six shades of linen, from Natural and Off White through Honey, Terracotta, Sage Green and Moss Green to Navy Blue and Black. Shade varies a little from one bolt to the next and screens show colour differently, so if a particular shade matters to you, write to us before you order.

Do you sell wholesale or make private label?
