How it is made

Every PehroDesign piece starts as a length of linen and an order. Nothing is cut until you have chosen it, which is why we can make it to your size, or to your own measurements, at no extra cost.

Where it began

When Chhavi was a child, her mother made her dresses at home, and watching that fascinated her. She went on to train in textile design at Polytechnic College, Delhi, then started wearing her own designs. The compliments kept coming, and in 2018 she turned it into PehroDesign. Since then more than 4,500 orders have gone out to customers across the US, Europe and beyond, and our Etsy shop holds a 4.8 star rating from over 1,500 reviews.

Who makes your garment

Chhavi, owner and designer. She chooses the cloth herself, and keeps to a simple, very good quality fabric rather than a complicated one.
Pradeep, our master tailor. He leads the cutting and stitching in our Jaipur workshop.

The cloth

We work in medium weight, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified pure linen. It is the weight that drapes properly without going sheer in daylight, it is naturally cooling and breathable, and it softens every time you wash it. Our men's shirts use European linen at around 200 gsm, pre-washed to reduce shrinkage. Satin pieces are listed separately, so you always know what you are buying.

How one garment gets made

You choose. Pick a piece from the collection, or send us a picture of something you want made. A photo, a sketch or a garment you already own is enough to start.
You tell us the fit. A size from XS to 3XL, or your own measurements: bust or chest, waist, hip and height. Send them within 24 hours of ordering and we cut to those numbers. Above a 46 inch bust we cut to measurements only.
We cut and stitch it. One garment, cut for one person, in our workshop at Sodala, Jaipur, with French seams throughout. This takes two to five business days.
It comes to you. Tracked worldwide delivery, usually 10 to 20 business days after dispatch. Express courier is available at checkout.

If the fit is off

If the finished garment differs from the measurements you sent by more than half an inch on any single measurement, we remake it free. Tell us within 30 days of delivery, with a photo.
