Our rings are made to order in quarter sizes from US 3, up to US 13 on some styles, so the right number matters. You do not need a jeweller. Any of these three methods works at home in a few minutes.
Method 1: measure a ring that already fits
- Choose a ring that fits the finger you plan to wear the new one on.
- Lay it flat on a ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in millimetres.
- Match the number to the chart below.
Method 2: paper strip or string
- Cut a thin strip of paper, or use non-stretchy string.
- Wrap it around the base of your finger, snug but not tight.
- Mark where the end meets, unwrap, and measure the length in millimetres. That is your circumference.
- Check it slides back over your knuckle. If it does not, go up a quarter size.
Quick size chart
| US size | Inside diameter | Circumference |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 15.7 mm | 49.3 mm |
| 6 | 16.5 mm | 51.9 mm |
| 7 | 17.3 mm | 54.4 mm |
| 8 | 18.1 mm | 57.0 mm |
| 9 | 18.9 mm | 59.5 mm |

Method 3: send us the measurement
Not sure which size your number falls into? Send us your finger measurement in millimetres with your order and we will make the ring to fit it.
Mistakes to avoid
- Measuring cold fingers. Fingers shrink in the cold and swell in heat. Measure at room temperature, ideally in the afternoon or evening.
- Forgetting the knuckle. If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, size for the knuckle so the ring goes on.
- Ignoring the band. Wide bands and large statement settings sit tighter than thin bands. Many people go up a quarter size for a wide ring.
- Using a stretchy tape. Fabric tapes and elastic string give a smaller reading than the truth.
